They love us, support us, and although they sometimes embarrass us, we love our dads just the same. This weekend, we will celebrate Father’s Day as a firm and a family.
You may know Ryan Foster as one of the founding partners of The Law Offices of Foster & Houston, but did you know he’s a proud father of two? In honor of Father’s Day, we interviewed Ryan to share more about his experience as both a dedicated father and lawyer.
Why did you want to become a lawyer?
Ever since I was young I’ve felt passionate about helping those that don’t have a voice. During my time at Baylor University, I was driven to choose a career that would let me help those that don’t have a voice receive justice. After graduating from Baylor University, I attended the South Texas College of Law to further pursue those aspirations. Funny thing is that career goal also lead me to the love of my life. It was during my time at law school that I met my wife and mother to my children, Juliet Foster.
Do you see the kids joining you as attorneys at The Law Offices of Foster & Houston one day?
They are certainly bright, driven, and compassionate kids so I have no doubt they’ll succeed in any career path they choose. If they do decide to follow Julie and my footsteps and become lawyers, we will welcome them with open arms!
What’s your favorite thing about being a father?
There are so many rewarding things that come with fatherhood. If I had to choose, I truly enjoy watching my kids face and overcome challenges. It’s inspiring to watch them grow and develop as people. After all, it’s how they respond to challenges that gives me a window into who they are and who they will be in the many years to come.
What are you doing to celebrate Father’s Day?
We will most likely be on the baseball fields! Julie usually plans something for our immediate family and our parents, who live close to us, so we all celebrate together.
